Sweet Cabin Life

SEASONS COME AND SEASONS GO

Another season has come and gone. Spring is here…well, almost. The trees are green, the grass is green, flowers are starting to bloom, yet we woke up to snow this morning. Stan and I have been married for forty years. Forty one this June. Forty one springs. Forty one summers. Forty one falls. Forty one winters.

We have lived a lifetime in those one hundred and sixty four seasons. Gone from eighteen to almost sixty. Got married. Raised our children. Shared in the birth of our grandchildren. Sadly buried a mother and a father. Watched as our lives and our world have changed before us and yet we go on…still together, still best friends and still in love after all of those seasons.

We have recently begun to talk about our next chapter. Golden years with golden sunsets. Another season of change. We have hope and excitement and yearning for that change. We look to it with a youthful spirit that reminds us we are once again starting out not ending up.

Years pass and seasons change but somethings remain forever the same. Love for each other. Love for our family. Friends we hold dear. Beliefs we live by. The peace in knowing we have been blessed with so many seasons together. And the joy as we look forward to many more seasons to come.

We look to the future and reach, as we always do, for each other’s hand, and feel nothing by happiness as we prepare to walk into the next season.
