Sweet Cabin Life

DEEP PART OF THE CREEK

Sunfish Creek lines the entire back of our property and in the far south corner, where it makes a 90* turn it is over 25 feet deep. It is said by the locals to be the deepest part of the whole creek.

It is ranked as one of the best creeks in Ohio for catching Muskie. Muskie are a mean white fish that can grow to several feet in length and have rows of razor sharp teeth. Muskie are a popular fish in Ohio because laws allow anglers to keep one fish per day and there is no catch or release length limit.  I addition to Muskie, the fishing is also great for bass and catfish as well.

My kids and grandkids love to come and set up camp in the corner and float a line for hours at a time. Our grandson runs back and forth between the fishing, riding in Paw Paw’s gator and the hot tub all day until he is so exhausted he can hardly keep his eyes open by early evening.

We regularly see Canadian Geese, wood ducks, and once in a great while even a deer swimming in the gentle creek, partially hidden by the tree lined deep banks.

There are many things we love about Sunfish Creek, but the thing we enjoy most is just sitting on the deck and watching it roll by.
